The Unlikely Friendship

In a quiet village nestled between rolling hills and babbling brooks, there lived a little cat named Moonbeam. Moonbeam had a coat as black as the midnight sky, but her eyes sparkled like the brightest stars. One starry night, while Moonbeam prowled through the alleys, she discovered a tiny creature with wings caught in a thicket.   The creature turned out to be Twinkle, a baby bat who had lost her way. Moonbeam, instead of pouncing, gently approached Twinkle and used her nimble paws to free the tiny bat. Twinkle, grateful and unafraid, looked at Moonbeam with eyes that held the wonder of the night sky.   From that night on, Moonbeam and Twinkle became the best of friends. Moonbeam would explore the rooftops, and Twinkle would soar alongside, leaving trails of stardust. Together, they discovered secret hideaways and shared stories under the moonlight.   Their friendship spread joy throughout the village, and soon the townsfolk eagerly awaited the nightly ad...

The Little Gardener's Surprise

Once upon a time in a small town, there lived a little girl named Lily who had a magical garden. Lily loved spending her afternoons tending to her flowers, talking to the butterflies, and singing to the plants. One sunny day, as Lily watered her tulips, she noticed a tiny door nestled among the stems.  To her surprise, it swung open, revealing a world of miniature creatures living in harmony with her garden. There were ladybugs in polka-dot houses, fairies weaving dewdrop dresses, and even a wise old snail reading poetry to a cluster of mushrooms.   Lily was overjoyed to discover these magical friends and decided to organize a tiny garden party. She crafted daisy hats for the fairies and set up a banquet of sweet nectar for the butterflies. The ladybugs brought their musical instruments, and the snail recited his favorite poems.   As the sun dipped below the horizon, turning the sky into a canvas of warm hues, Lily and her newfound friends danced under the twin...

Flowers in the fields

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a girl named Lily. She was kind and beautiful, with long golden hair and sparkling blue eyes. Everyone in the village loved her, but she was especially fond of a boy named Jack. Jack was a young farmer, with broad shoulders and a warm smile. He was always there to help those in need and had a heart of gold. One day, while tending to his crops, Jack saw a stunning sight. Lily was walking through the fields, picking wildflowers. Jack's heart skipped a beat, and he knew in that moment that he was in love with her. However, he was too shy to confess his feelings, so he decided to do something special to show her how he felt. The next day, Jack gathered all the wildflowers he could find and created a beautiful bouquet. He placed the bouquet at Lily's doorstep, with a note that read "To the most beautiful girl in the village. Love, Jack." Lily was overjoyed when she saw the bouquet and immediately knew who it was from. She w...

MARRIED COUPLE

MARRIED COUPLE, this is worth to read. My husband is an Engineer by profession, I love him for his steady nature, and I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders. Three years of courtship and now, two years into marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it. The reasons of me loving him before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restlessness. I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feelings, I yearn for the romantic moments, like a little girl yearning for candy. My husband, is my complete opposite, his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about love. One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision, that I wanted a divorce. “Why?” he asked, shocked. “I am tired, there are no reasons for everything in the world!” I answered. He kept silent the whole night, seems to be in deep thought with a lighted cigarette at all ...

THE PREGNANT DEER SCENARIO...

In a forest, a pregnant deer is about to give birth to a baby. It finds a remote grass field nearby a river and slowly goes there thinking it would be safe. As she moves slowly, she gets labour pain. At the same moment, dark clouds gather around that area and lightning starts a forest fire. Turning left, she sees a hunter who is aiming an arrow from a distance. As she tries to move towards right, she spots a hungry lion approaching towards her. STOCHASTIC PROBABILITY THEORY What can the pregnant deer do, as she is already under labour pain..? What do you think will happen..? Will the deer survive..? Will it give birth to a fawn..? Will the fawn survive..? OR Will everything be burnt by the forest fire...? Can the deer go left..? No, the hunter's arrow is pointing at her. Can she go right...? No, the hungry male lion is approaching her. Can she move up..? No, there the forest is on fire. Can she move down..? No, that is where the fierce river is. Answer: She do...

Anger management

When you occasionally have a really bad day, and you just need to take it out on someone, don't take it out on someone you know, take it out on someone you don't know. I was sitting at my desk when I remembered a phone call I'd forgotten to make. I found the number and dialed it. A man answered, saying 'Hello.' I politely said, 'This is Chris. Could I please speak with Robyn Carter?' Suddenly a manic voice yelled out in my ear 'Get the right f*** ing number!' and the phone was slammed down on me. I couldn't believe that anyone could be so rude. When I tracked down Robyn's correct number to call her, I found that I had accidentally transposed the last two digits. After hanging up with her, I decided to call the 'wrong' number again. When the same guy answered the phone, I yelled 'You're an asshole !' and hung up. I wrote his number down with the word 'asshole' next to it, and put it in my desk dra...

Excellence

Image source - Google.com An american once visited a temple under construction where he saw a sculptor making an idol of God. Suddenly he noticed a similar idol lying nearby. Surprised, he asked the sculptor, "Do you need two statues of the same idol?"  "No," said the sculptor without looking up, "We need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage."  The gentleman examined the idol and found no apparent damage. "Where is the damage?" he asked.  "There is a scratch on the nose of the idol." said the sculptor, still busy with his work.  "Where are you going to install the idol?" The sculptor replied that it would be installed on a pillar twenty feet high.  "If the idol is that far, who is going to know that there is a scratch on the nose?" the gentleman asked.  The sculptor stopped his work, looked up at the gentleman, smiled and said, "I will know it." The desire to e...

Logic

Bill, a fresh computer graduate from a world-class University, goes for an interview in a software company. The interviewer is Steve, a grubby old man. And the first question he asks Bill is, 'Are you good at logic?' 'Of course,' replies Bill. 'Let me test you,' replies Steve. 'Two men come down a chimney. One comes with a clean face and the other comes out with a dirty face. Which one would wash his face?' Bill stares at Steve. 'Is that a test in Logic?' Steve nods. 'The one with the dirty face washes his face', Bill answers wearily. 'Wrong. The one with the clean face washes his face. Examine the simple logic. The one with the dirty face looks at the one with the clean face and thinks his face is clean. The one with the clean face looks at the one with the dirty face and thinks his face is dirty. So, the one with the clean face washes his face.' 'Hmm. I never thought of that," says Bill. 'Give me an...

Arrogant...is He?

A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes and went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy’s father going and coming in the hall waiting for the doctor. Once seeing him, the dad yelled: “Why did you take all this time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have the sense of responsibility?” The doctor smiled and said: “I am sorry, I wasn’t in the hospital and I came the fastest I could after receiving the call…… And now, I wish you’d calm down so that I can do my work” “Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies now what will you do??” said the father angrily The doctor smiled again and replied: “I will say what Job said in the Holy Book “From dust we came and to dust we return, blessed be the name of God”. Doctors cannot prolong lives. Go and intercede for your son, we will do our best by God’s grace...

DO U HATE SOMEONE???

A kindergarten teacher decided to let her class play a game.   The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes.     Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates.   So the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates.     So when the day came, each child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes. The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go (even to the toilet) for 1 week.   Days after days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those having 5 potatoes also had to carry heavier bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended....   The teacher asked: "...

Eye Opener

A teacher from Primary School asks her students to write an essay about what they would like God to do for them... At the end of the day while marking the essays, she read one that made her very emotional. Her husband, that had just walked in saw her crying and asked her: - What happened? She answered - Read this. It's one of my student’s essays… “Oh God, tonight I ask you something very special: Make me into a television. I want to take its place. Live like the TV in my house. Have my own special place, and have my family around ME. To be taken seriously when I talk.... I want to be the centre of attention and be heard without interruptions or questions. I want to receive the same special care that the TV receives when it is not working. Have the company of my dad when he arrives home from work, even when he is tired. And I want my mom to want me when she is sad and upset, instead of ignoring me... And... I want my brothers to fight to be with me... I want to fee...

Date with the Woman

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said I love you but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you. The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie. 'What's wrong, are you well,' she asked? My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news. 'I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you,' I responded. 'Just the two of us.' She thought about it for a moment, and then said, 'I would like that very much.' That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous...

HOW CAN I REPAY YOU?

After having reached the height of his career a man felt a duty to repay his mother back for all that she had done for him. He asked, "Mother, what can I give you? What can I do for you? I sincerely wish to repay you for the sacrifices you made for me and for all the love you have showered upon me." Mother looked surprised and said, "Why do you think about it? It was my duty so I did it, you don't have to repay me. Even if you want to, there is no way a man can ever repay his mother."  Despite her continuous refusal to ask for anything, the son persisted. To put an end to the discussion, she said, "All right. If you must, then tonight you sleep on my bed, with me, just as you used to when you were a baby." He said, "That's a strange thing to ask for, but if it pleases you, I will." As soon as he fell asleep, the mother got up and brought a bucket of water. She poured a mug full of water on his side. Feeling disturbed by the wetness...

Marriage 'a touching one'

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes. Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce.. I raised the topic calmly. She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Dew. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her! With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company. She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had sp...

ALWAYS be POSITIVE!

There once was a bunch of tiny frogs.. who arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants... Honestly No one in crowd really believed that, the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower... Ever heard statements such as: "Oh, WAY too difficult!! They will NEVER make it to the top." or "Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!" Most tiny frogs began collapsing one by one... ... Except for those who in a fresh tempo were climbing higher and higher... The crowd continued to yell "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!" More tiny frogs got tired and gave up... But ONE continued higher and higher and higher... This one wouldn't give up! At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who after a big effort was the only one who reached the top! ...

Kiss the World

This story was sent to me by a friend of mine and requested to include it to my blog. So here is her contribution. This speech was delivered to the Class of 2006 at the IIM (Indian Institute of Management), Bangalore on defining success by Subroto Bagchi CEO MindTree. I was the last child of a small-time government servant, in a family of five brothers. My earliest memory of my father is as that of a District Employment Officer in Koraput, Orissa. It was, and remains as back of beyond as you can imagine. There was no electricity; no primary school nearby and water did not flow out of a tap. As a result, I did not go to school until the age of eight; I was home-schooled. My father used to get transferred every year. The family belongings fit into the back of a jeep – so the family moved from place to place and without any trouble, my Mother would set up an establishment and get us going. Raised by a widow who had come as a refugee from the then East Bengal, she was a matriculate whe...

A Boy's Love

On the last day before Christmas, Anit hurried to go to the store to buy the remaining gifts Anit didn't manage to buy  earlier. When Anit saw all the people there, he started to complain to myself. It is going to take forever here and he still have so many other places to go... Christmas really is getting more and more annoying every year. How he wish he could just lie down, go to sleep and only wake up after it... Nonetheless, Anit made my way to the toy section, and there he started to curse the prices, wondering if all kids really play with such expensive toys. While looking in the toy section, Anit noticed a small boy of about 5 years old, pressing a doll against his chest. He kept on touching the hair of the doll and looked so sad. Anit wondered who was this doll for. Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him and said: Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money? The old lady replied: You ...
